Below are the terms and conditions for Craig O’Toole Personal Training. Please read them carefully and sign to say that you agree with and will abide by them.

Training Session Times

Congratulations you’ve made the leap into the world of exercise – it’s scary we know, but were here to hold your hand. Were giving you regular weekly training sessions so that you always know when you’re training, and can get into an exercise habit. Make a note of them below. We know that now and again you’ll need to change these and that’s fine, just let us know and we’ll do our best to find alternatives.

What we Provide

Training sessions are 1 hour in duration but may be slightly longer or shorter if necessary; we’ll discuss this with you first. We’ll always aim to arrive promptly and be well prepared for each session, with a clear plan of what your training will include. We’ll give you nutritional and exercise recommendations specific to your needs following our evaluation, and will most likely give you homework to complete between sessions. We always aim to make your sessions evidence based i.e. in line with current accepted guidelines from published literature; in cases where the literature is sparse we’ll use our own expert judgement and experience to keep your sessions safe and effective. We may from time to time recommend material, products or services from third parties, we do our best, but we can’t guarantee they’ll be as awesome as us! And of course we’ll keep all your personal information 100% confidential.

What we Expect of You

We expect you to be prepared and ready for each sessions so that we don’t waste time looking for your keys when you could be working towards your goals. We expect you to complete your prescribed nutritional and exercise changes, we know that life does sometimes get in the way, but we want you to get results, so we will want a good reason why not.

You’ll need appropriate clothing and footwear depending on your activity; we’ll discuss exactly what you’ll need depending on the style of your session. You’ll need to have eaten within 2 hours before a session, be well hydrated and have water available during your workout.

Most of all we expect effort. We know that you’re not Paula Radcliffe and we don’t care. All we need you to do is try- you’ll probably surprise yourself and achieve your goals in less time!

Cancellation of a Session by a Trainer

If we can’t make a session we’ll always aim to give you an absolute minimum of 24 hours notice, it’s normally at least a week’s notice. We’ll always try and find an alternative session for you so that you continue to work towards your goals. If we are running a few minutes late we’ll give you a call and let you know. If were running more than 30 minutes late we’ll call you and give you the opportunity to reschedule or to proceed if we both have adequate time. Sometimes the weather gets in the way and we’ll discuss alternative training options or reschedule. You’ll never be short changed.

Cancellation of a Session by a Client

We expect regular weekly training with one session per week being the minimum, but we know life gets busy and we understand that you’ll need to cancel/reschedule sessions from time to time. That’s not a problem as long as you give us 24hrs notice. If you cancel/reschedule a session within 24 hours notice then, as you can imagine that session goes down as used as we cannot reallocate the time.

Prices and Payment

Sessions are paid for in advance and can be purchased in blocks of 6, 12 or 24. We offer Personal Training (1-2-1 with a trainer) or Pairs Training (2 clients sharing a session). Your sessions are valid for a maximum of 6 months after purchase so use them or lose them!

If you purchase Pairs Training and one of you cannot make a session then you have two options. The remaining client can go ahead and train and one of your pairs session is deducted as normal, or you can cancel and resume when your both ready to take advantage of your sessions.

Termination of a Contract

If you wish to stop training then one months notice is appreciated, we’ll also give you a months’ notice if we can no longer train you, to allow you to make alternative arrangements.

Refunds

Refunds are only available on our first 6 sessions at half price offer. If you’re not completely satisfied after your first six sessions then please write to Craig O’Toole Personal Training, 68 Ovaltine Drive, Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, WD4 8SG for your 100% refund. To qualify for a refund you must have completed all your training sessions, set homework and nutritional changes. After your first 6 sessions once a block booking is made refunds aren’t available.

Insurance

All trainers are covered under our liability insurance of £5million. Certificates available on request.

First Aid

All trainers hold up to date CPR qualifications. Certificates available on request.

Written Consent

  • I am aware that there exists the possibility of certain changes occurring during exercise. They include abnormal blood pressure, fainting, irregular, fast or slow heart rhythm, and in rare instances, heart attack, stroke or death. I am aware that every effort will be made to minimise these risks by the evaluation of my health and fitness prior to the onset of a programme of increased physical activity.
  • I am aware that increasing my physical activity may increase the chance of sustaining certain injuries that could include: muscle and tendon strains, ligament sprains as well as joint or bone damage, and am aware that all precautions will be taken to reduce the incidence of such injuries.
  • I am aware that I am responsible to provide information regarding my health status or previous experiences of unusual feelings with physical effort. I am responsible to report promptly any unusual feelings or discomfort during exercise.
  • I am aware that I am responsible to provide a complete and truthful medical history and keep this information up to date should any changes occur.
  • I am aware that personal training by its nature requires physical contact between myself and the trainer, and give consent for appropriate and reasonable contact to take place. I am aware that I can request that alternative methods be used to reduce this contact at any time.
  • I am aware that I am not obliged to perform or complete any physical activity or nutritional change prescribed to me, and am aware that I am obliged to stop the physical activity at any time and for any reason.
  • I am fully aware of the risks and dangers of exercise and enter into a programme of increased physical activity of my own free will. I will hold no blame or responsibility against Craig O’Toole Personal Training should I sustain any injury, illness, damage or loss during a training session or from any advice or omission.
